I enjoyed parts of this book. The police material is very well written and feels very authentic. I didn't enjoy the red herrings as much. I understand what they were about but it was a bit difficult at later points in the book to understand whose point of view you were reading from.
It was an interesting story and raised a number of very valid questions. For that reason alone I can recommend the read. It definitely felt like time well spent and I will read more from the authior.
The writing style was easy to read and quite visually descriptive which helped. I liked the fact there was not a lot of "navel gazing" in the style but it moved quickly onto the next point. This kept the story moving forward and given it was not a "big story" it did need this pace.
